Yes, Please – Amy Poehler
It’s fair to say that I have a pretty big crush on this perky blonde woman. Amy Poehler is delightful, hilarious and inspiring, and I expect nothing less than embarrassingly loud belly laughs.
Wondy just doesn’t get enough limelight, in this girl’s humble opinion. Where’s her movie?? I’ll have to settle for this tome, which delves into the fascinating feminist-y story of how my favorite super hero was created.
Randall Munroe has been making me giggle for years with his insightful, intelligent and hilarious comic XKCD, and now his blogs most popular answers to “What if” have been compiled in a book! Science and humor make for excellent bedfellows. The man goes into an insane amount of scientific detail for ridiculous questions like “What if the earth stopped spinning?” and “how fast can you hit a speed bump and live?”
“I hope you’re packed for India already”
“I’m not going to India with you, St. John”
“That’s not what these TWO TICKETS TO INDIA say”
I just can’t wait to see what Mr. Rochester texts like. Creepy. I bet it’s really creepy.
I don’t know why I want this – I already snatch up the trade paperbacks as soon as I can get my hands on them. Maybe it’s just because I want another copy of this to lend to my friends, or because I want to keep supporting the series in hopes it will go on and on and on… Whatever the reason, the otherworldly sci-fi-fantasy-action-romance-adventure comic has captivated my attention, and I want it in any form I can get it.
